Senior Growth Marketing Manager (m/f/d)

Full-time

Berlin & Remote

About us:

CALIMA is a Berlin-based B2B SaaS startup with a mission to make workplace safety simpler, more reliable, and more effective through digital and innovative solutions. Our software helps companies ensure that lone workers receive assistance quickly in an emergency. CALIMA is used by hundreds of companies and protects thousands of employees every day.

We are a small, ambitious team with high standards for quality. We take a pragmatic, product-focused approach with quick decision-making processes. We are looking for people who don’t just go through the motions, but who take ownership, contribute ideas, and actively improve our processes.

Your role:

As Growth Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in driving our continued growth. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing our marketing and lead generation activities. The focus is on qualified leads, measurable results, and sustainable scaling.

Currently, many of these strategically important issues are still handled directly by the co-founders, but they don’t always get the attention they deserve in day-to-day operations. That’s exactly what you’ll change: You’ll bring structure, proper prioritization, and predictability to our marketing activities and use them to develop a scalable growth system.

You’ll work directly with the co-founders, quickly develop a deep understanding of the product, market, and target audiences, and then take on a significant amount of ownership. In this role, you’ll manage existing and new freelancers, particularly in the areas of performance marketing, lead generation, and online experience.

Important: We are not looking for someone to simply coordinate efforts or manage individual channels. We are looking for someone who takes a holistic approach to marketing, can implement strategies hands-on, and is also capable of effectively managing external specialists.

Your tasks:

Performance Marketing

  • Management and further development of our paid acquisition channels, particularly Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and other relevant B2B channels
  • Collaboration with our external performance marketing support team, including briefings, reviews, feedback, and quality control
  • Further development of keyword, campaign, and target audience strategies
  • Development and evaluation of tests for ads, target audiences, creative assets, and landing pages
  • Optimizing campaigns for SQLs, lead quality, and budget efficiency

Conversion Tracking & Lead Generation

  • Definition and refinement of relevant conversion goals
  • Design and optimization of landing pages, forms, CTAs, and user journeys
  • Ensuring data protection-compliant lead capture, tracking, and lead routing
  • Creating simple reports and dashboards on channels, conversions, lead quality, and SQLs
  • Close collaboration with Sales

Website & Online Experience

  • Further development of key website content from a marketing, user, and conversion perspective
  • Improvements to page structure, user navigation, trust elements, CTAs, and conversion paths
  • Maintenance and optimization of key content such as images, screenshots, FAQs, and testimonials
  • Implementing necessary website changes in the CMS or with technical support

Brand & Creative Production

  • Development and revision of marketing copy for ads, websites, landing pages, downloads, social media, and offline campaigns
  • Managing external designers, copywriters, video professionals, and creative freelancers
  • Creation or coordination of banners, ad creatives, presentation materials, infographics, PDFs, and social media assets
  • Ensuring consistent language, design, and tone throughout the user journey
  • Development of reusable templates, messaging modules, creatives, and marketing assets

Niche Media & Partner Ads

  • Research and evaluation of relevant trade publications, industry portals, newsletters, associations, online communities, podcasts, and provider directories
  • Planning and implementing targeted tests for banners, newsletter placements, sponsored content, advertorials, webinars, or industry directories
  • Coordination of copy, creative assets, landing pages, and tracking for partner placements
  • Evaluation of effectiveness based on traffic quality, SQLs, and sales feedback
  • Compilation of a prioritized list of potential partners, trade media, and niche channels

What you bring with you:

  • Several years of experience (typically 5+ years) in growth marketing, performance marketing, B2B marketing, or a similar role, ideally at a B2B SaaS company or startup.
  • You have already held broad marketing responsibilities and have not just managed individual channels in isolation.
  • Excellent understanding of performance marketing, particularly paid search, B2B campaigns, keyword strategies, landing pages, and lead quality.
  • Experience with conversion optimization, lead generation, funnel analysis, tracking, and data-driven campaign management.
  • Proficiency in using common marketing and analytics tools such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, GA4, HubSpot, or similar systems.
  • A keen understanding of target audiences, messaging, copywriting, and the ability to translate complex B2B topics into clear, accessible communication.
  • Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or external specialists
  • A structured, self-directed, and pragmatic approach to work, with a focus on priorities, quality, and speed of execution.
  • You think in terms of hypotheses, tests, lessons learned, and clear success criteria.
  • You’re not optimizing for vanity metrics, but for qualified leads, SQLs, and real business impact.
  • Fluency in German – our meetings are conducted in German.
  • Good knowledge of English.

  • Meaningful work that makes a difference: a safety-critical product that protects people every day
  • Flexible work arrangements: remote, hybrid, or in-office in Berlin-Kreuzberg
